Prestshús Evening Sun Guesthouse is a small farm located on the south coast of Iceland along with many beautiful landmarks within driving- or walking distance. The owners, Einar Kristinn and Ragnhildur (Ragga) bought the farm early 2018. The farm has belonged to Einars family (on his mothers side) for generations. The opportunity to buy the farm and set up the small guesthouse made it possible to fulfil a life long dream of ours to live at the country side and the family heritage made it especially sweet. Renovations of the oldest part of the house has been a success and the first part of the guesthouse has been open for bookings since August 2019.
Prestshús 2, the farm, includes 40 sheep, few horses, 3 dogs and 3 cats. The old family home is now a home for us, the owners, our animals and the Evening Sun Guesthouse.
On the ground floor of the guesthouse we have a small kitchen for guests to share for light cooking and breakfast preparing, 2 bathrooms with shower and the family room for 4 persons called East end. On the second floor we have 3 rooms, each for 2 or 3 persons, Mýrdalsjökull, Reynisfjall and Dyrhólaey. Each room on the second floor is named after the view from the window. We have one bathroom on the second floor.
We made a small video to describe the area and the feeling to be here. First clip is taken at the black beach and Hálsanefshellir, few moments are from the garden at the guesthouse, some clips are of our Golden retriever, our lamb, and few shots from surrounding countryside.
